Atmanirbhar Assam List: The Assamese government has unveiled a program for young people without jobs. As is well known, there is a considerable rise in unemployment throughout the state. The State Government has introduced the Mukhyamantri Atmanirbhar Asom Scheme 2024 in order to monitor it. Under this programme, the Assam government intends to provide financial help to over 25,000 jobless youngsters, giving them access to markets, resources, and training necessary to establish long-term enterprises. The government of Assam State will give its young people financial support so they can start their own businesses. The advantages of the initiative are available to all permanent residents of Assam State who fall between the age range of 28 to 40.
What is Atmanirbhar Assam Scheme?
Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, has introduced the Chief Minister Atmanirbhar Assam Abhijan (CMAAA) to help youth without jobs by giving them financial support to start their own businesses. The program seeks to boost entrepreneurship in the state and open up options for self-employment. Each chosen beneficiary of this scheme will receive a total of Rs. 2 lakh, comprising an interest-free loan of Rs. 1 lakh for a period of five years and a subsidy of Rs. 1 lakh.
The initiative helps young people become self-reliant by providing a full support system that includes financial aid, mentorship, and skill development programs. The program’s goal is to empower Assamese youth to take the lead in innovation and entrepreneurship by reducing unemployment and promoting economic growth by giving them access to necessary resources.

Objective of Atmanirbhar Assam Scheme

Eligibility Criteria
In order to receive benefits under the system, you must meet the following qualifying requirements:
- The candidate needs to be an Assamese permanent resident.
- As of April 1, 2024, the age requirement is above 28 and below 44 (the upper age limit is lowered to 43 for SC, ST, and OBC categories).
- The candidate ought to have the following educational background:
- Class X Pass as the minimum requirement for the general category (up to class X for applicants who belong to SC, ST, or OBC)
- ITIs, Polytechnics, Diploma holders in other technical programs, Post Graduates with degrees in professional fields such as engineering, medicine, veterinary medicine, BDS, agriculture, and fisheries, etc.
- The applicant must be qualified to perform the income-generating tasks based on their relevant experiences, education, and training.
- The applicant’s bank account needs to be opened by April 1st, 2024.
- The applicant shouldn’t have ever experienced a loan default from a nationalized or cooperative bank.
- Benefits under this system can only be received by one member per household.
- The applicant’s Employment Exchange registration must be current.

Number Of Beneficiaries
Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, declared that 25,238 people would receive approval from the cabinet as part of the Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Assam Abhijan (CMA) program.
