Objectives of the Mukhyamantri Saur Swarojgar Yojana
The scheme aims to provide employment opportunities to the unemployed residents of Uttarakhand so they do not need to leave their native places in search of jobs.Residents can introduce sunlight based chargers with a limit of 20 kW to 200 kW and sell the power created to Uttarakhand Power Partnership Restricted (UPCL). Loans are also available for installing solar panels.
Eligibility Criteria
- Permanent residents of Uttarakhand are eligible.
- Individuals aged 18 years or above, rural unemployed, and farmers can apply.
- Only one individual from a family can be allocated a solar power plant.
- Applicants must submit an affidavit stating that no one else in their family has applied under this scheme.
- Beneficiaries of existing schemes can also apply under the new terms.

Technical Standards
- Solar panels with capacities of 20 kW, 25 kW, 50 kW, 100 kW, and 200 kW are allowed.
- Land requirements:
- 750-1,000 sq. meters for a 50 kW plant.
- 1,500-2,000 sq. meters for a 100 kW plant.
- 3,000-4,000 sq. meters for a 200 kW plant.
- Generated electricity can be sold to UPCL for 25 years at rates set by the Uttarakhand Electricity Regulatory Commission.
- The per-unit price is INR 4.64, valid until 2026.

Loan Facility
